Clayton Smith, CAIA.   Clayton earned a BA from The Royal Military College and served as a Captain in the Infantry for five years before entering the financial industry in 1994.  After becoming a Chartered Financial Planner and building a successful financial planning business, Clayton established Crystal Wealth in 1998.  He completed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst program in 1998 and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst certification.  He created and managed Crystal’s retail mutual funds until they were sold to Co-operators in 2002.  Currently, he is the lead portfolio manager on the following mutual funds: ESI Managed Portfolio, IFM Monitored World Equity, Crystal Enhanced Mortgage Fund, ESI Premium Portfolio and Insignia Fund.

Vice-President, Operations

Scott Whale, CIM. Scott has been with Crystal Wealth since March 2004.  Prior to his employment with Crystal, he accumulated over 20 years of business experience with Canada's largest rail car leasing company in the diverse areas of finance, marketing and sales. He has successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course and achieved the Canadian Investment Management (CIM) designation and is working towards his Associate Portfolio Manager license.”

Chief Compliance Officer and Vice-President, Accounting

Adam Barfoot, CA. Adam earned a BA in Economics and a Diploma in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University. He then worked for BDO Dunwoody LLP for 3 years as an auditor while obtaining his Chartered Accountant designation. His clients included a broad range of businesses in the finance and manufacturing sectors as well as pension plans and Crystal Wealth's mutual funds.

Research Analyst

Dr. David Amato.  David has completed level 1 of the CFA program and is currently working towards his CIM designation.  He has been president of S.A. Capital Growth Corp., a personal investment holding company, since September 2007. Prior to September 2008, Dr. Amato was a practicing dentist in Ontario after attending the University of Western Ontario.
